Idea for Mod

Hello everyone. I am a new member here and I bring a great idea :).

Using the existing Porsche Carerra GT model, I would to be a part in creating a new version the the Porsche CGT. The car would be a replica of VRAlexander's legendary CGT. What would be required is we redo the specs and physics slightly (the car is upgraded to about 730hp as compared to about 620hp stock), change some of the exterior of the car, and change the sound. The car has a completely different sound because of exhaust modifications. The car has straight pipes, which means the car does not have a muffler but only pipes, making the car very loud.

If this is done, we can work close with the owner of the car, VRAlexander, in creating a realistic replica. I can see if he has accurate specs of the car or any other needed information of the car.

The reason I say "we" is because I am not enough of a computer whiz to do this all myself. I can surely learn as I do have a good background in computers, but I have never really worked on mods for games.

No luck bud. You can't modify the specs and physics of a car and you'll have to ask the creators, Tool and TheScottishSpotter, who made the Carrera GT for their permission but due to cases before I don't think they'll allow it.

Well that is only half of the mod. If we can at least create an exterior and sound mod for the car, that would be enough.

Maybe then I'll even buy TDU for the PC >:].

I know VRAlexander personally, weve been to wing stop a couple of times in LA.

He doesnt own the CGT anymore by the way.

It had AWE Straight pipes exhaust, stock rims just coated black with yellow pinstriping (obviously)

it has an intake too, thats pretty much it.

There is no mods necessary except a wheel mod and sound mod. thanks

I was told it had some other modifications giving it 730hp.

Either way I'd like to see this mid.

Well 3 Things.

1. Tool Does Not Allow Any Editing Of His Mods At All (Not Even With Permission)

But you could create your own rims for it, since that isn't editing his mod, just an addon or something.

Your not allowed to edit the rim, but you could release the in game HUD and I'm sure he would put it as an addon to his mod! :D

Just one question .
Eden games are ok for modify default tdu models or rims.
Someone asked them ?
Because if it's a personnal mod not for release, i dont see the problem.

In regards to Eden / Atari. Us Europeans aren't allowed to mod, except the Germana. The americans can, but we aren't allowed. The English Atari have been contacted and as far as I know have not responded.

The official forums (Germany's and America's) does allow modding. All other don't. But as we're not official, we allow posting here.

Well i see no difficulty in doing that mod, just a rim mod + body swap so it get's somewhere around 730 bhp, and there's a pretty good soundmod out for it, not the VRAlexanders ofc but it's not bad.

Well there is no point in having his CGT without new sounds and rims. At least a new sound mod - it has to be one of the best sounding cars I've ever heard.

Can you upload them? Megaupload/Sendspace doesn't work for me :( and adding a HUD isn't editing tool's work so he wouldn't mind.
